Kia ora Multisporters,
What a strange new world we live in we find ourselves in. The team at Southern Lakes Multisport Club thought it was a good time to touch base and see how you're all doing in your bubbles and rejoice in the return to level 3 on Tuesday 28 April which means we can get out and paddle (safely and close to the shore please)! For more information on recreation activities allowable under alert level 3, please refer to this Sport NZ document
Hopefully you have all found some alternatives to your normal adventuring over the past few weeks. While I'm sure you know every little rock and plant along your local trails, there has also been lots of great free online content to keep us fit and healthy so hopefully you've found something to keep you going. To that end, we wanted to reiterate that we are still forging ahead with our usual club activities, whilst carefully keeping an eye on further industry updates and government guidance.
The business stuff:
Club AGM - we had scheduled our Club AGM for 12 May however in light of the uncertainty around travel and group gathering restrictions we have decided to delay this until 21 June, following the Cromwell kayak race. Time and venue TBC. All are welcome, please come along.
Annual member subs are normally due on 1 April each year. We appreciate that our valued members may be facing different circumstances and we understand that priorities may have to change. We are committed to continuing to hold our grass roots events, understanding that for many of multisport community, when times get challenging, we get outside. These local club events will become more important than ever during times of travel restrictions. So if you are able to, please click here to renew your membership. In return, you'll get cheaper race entries, access to hire kayaks and advice from experienced multisporters.
The fun stuff:
